Beacon of Hope

Center Honoree -- Bob Broman

On May 6, 2004 our very own Robert "Bob" Broman was honored with the Arizona Center for Disability Law's Maureen Zeeb Mental Health Advocacy Award.

Bob is a highly visible consumer advocate in our Maricopa County Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHIA), working tirelessly for consumers' causes.

He was also celebrated this month as the National Alliance of Mentally Ill (NAMI), Phoenix Volunteer of the Month.

In addition to working part time as a teacher here at North Phoenix Visions of Hope Center, he has many other involvements.

Here is just a sampling of his other involvements:

A member of the NAMI AZ State Board of Directors,
Co-chair of the Maricopa Consumer Advisory Comittee (MCAC),
A presenter in NAMI's "In Our Own Voice" program, and
A volunteer of the National Mental Health Association (NMHA) Compeer Program just to mention a few.
